Tuscany Tour Guide in Siena and Florence

Siena – A day as pilgrims

The Via Francigena, the road connecting Siena to Rome and northern Europe.

This is a very interesting tour, where we will follow the pilgrims footsteps.

It is important to remember the memories of the Archbishop Sigeric , who described the various stages on his route on his way back to Canterbury from Rome in 994. We will do a tour like the pilgrims of the Middle Ages: starting from Porta Camollia, reaching Porta Romana and finally discovering a beautiful garden “Orto dei Pecci”, where you can have dinner like a pilgrim. During the tour we will see tower- palaces and the most interesting historical- churches.

Duration: 4 hours.

It is possible to visit the Basilica of San Domenico, which contains the relics of St. Catherine from Siena, and also her House, where you can know the stories of her life and relationship with the Pope.

For the complete tour: a full day.
